around Seeley: Seeley, Salmon,
Alva, Placid, and Inez all formed
by glaciers. This area is less
crowded than Glacier National
Park. You can view wildlife,
canoe, bike. At the north end
of Swan Lake, a camp ground is
available. The Morrell Falls are
on an easy trail north of Seeley
Lake via Cottonwood Lakes Rd.
to the east of Hwy. 83. The
Double Arrow Lodge serves
gourmet meals and Sunday
brunch.
Three Forks
Three Forks in southwestern Montana off Rt. 287. In town is the elegant
Sacagawea Hotel. A few miles south is Willow Creek with a small art
gallery and cozy restaurant in a white house. North of town is Missouri
Headwaters State Park, where the Jefferson, Gallatin, and Madison riv-
ers conflate to form the headwaters of the Missouri River. Meriwether
Lewis camped there and named the rivers. Stop at Wheat Montana
and if you are heading to Helena look left to see high on a hill a herd of
horses sculpted by Jim Dolan.
Bozeman
Midtown Tavern tucked away on 7th St. is Bozeman's newest edition
to the food & fun hangout scene. Sprightly beverages and no-fuss
food are happening in a Montana-friendly environment. Say "hi" to
Josh & Justine, MSU alums and owners.
