NONPROFIT NEWS THE MONTANA WILDERNESS ASSOCIATION (MWA) works with communi- ties to protect Montana's wilderness heritage, quiet trails and outdoor tradi- tions now and for future generations. MWA is celebrating its 10th season of leading FREE winter Wilderness Walks. The schedule of more than 50 snowshoe outings across the state is available from www.wildmontana.org or (406) 443-7350. Darn! MONTANA HEART Although we love Montana's geography, we accidentally placed BROWNING too far to the east on our map on page 93! Even though our art director's father is a wild- life biologist, he labeled a SAGE GROUSE as "Sharp-Tailed" on p. 24. In Montana a different species is called Sharp-tailed Grouse. On p. 30 GREG SCHEIBEL'S WEB SITE was regrettably dropped. See his work at www.gregscheibel.com. On p.38, the Web site for NOTEWORTHY should be www.noteworthystore.com. EAGLE MOUNT ADAPTIVE SKI PROGRAM is looking for Winter Volunteers for their Nordic and Alpine Ski Programs. "We provide therapeutic recre- ation to people with developmental and physical disabilities and children with cancer." The Bridger Bowl Ski program needs around 250 volunteers for eight-weeks; the Big Sky program starts during the holiday season. In return, you will receive a ski pass for the days you volunteer with our program, enhance your skills with Professional Ski Instructors, and make new friends. To get signed up for the Bridger Bowl Program contact Diana Proemm, dproemm@eaglemount.org, or for the Big Sky area Chad Bigger- staff, cbiggerstaff@eaglemount.org. Saturday, February 2nd, REACH INC. will have their second annual "Have a Heart Art Auction" in the Emerson Cultural Center Ballroom from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.. All proceeds benefit adults with developmental disabilities in the Gallatin Valley. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For more information, call (406) 587-1271, email dee@reachinc.org, or visit the event page of www.reachinc.org. WONDERLUST is an organization dedicated to bringing stimulating educational experiences to adults in the greater Gallatin area. We offer non-credit classes (no tests!), forums, book clubs, and other educational opportunities. A new series of classes will be starting in January. Check them out at www.eu.montana.edu/wonderlust or call Extended University at MSU, (406) 994-6683. ~ We want news from all over Montana. Send it on. www.distinctlymontana.com 91
