WOMEN LEARNING DENTISTRY AROUND 1896 AT DILLON
NORMAL COLLEGE IN DILLON. Anna Mae Lowman Pankey,
working in the rear on the right, practiced as a dentist in
Virginia City. Since medical professionals followed mining
camps, it is not surprising to find the best care possible
offered in Virginia City. Tools were woefully primitive
compared by today's standards. Painkillers, except for an
abundant supply of whiskey, were in short supply. Museum
