Life is messy, enjoy it!
While floating the Missouri River through the White Cliffs, photographer LYNN DONALDSON captured this image of three river guides taking a mud bath to cool off. "These ladies guided on the Missouri all summer and knew about this great mud hole," says Donaldson. "As soon as all the guests had gotten off the boats, the girls put on their bikinis and dove
in. Pretty soon, every single guest was up there wallowing in the mud with them––from age 5 to 80." She explains, "It would start to bake on your skin after awhile because it was July and the sun was so warm, but you could just move over a few feet and rinse off in the river––and then roll around and get slathered again. One of the best afternoons of my life!"
