Trivia
Contest begins
December 15th
and runs through
January 31st.
Swan Range: The name "Swan" was likely adopted from an early homestead
family named Swan. One of the highest peaks, Mt. Aneas, is named for Chief Aeneas
Paul of the Kootenai.

Native American healing: Medicine people make tools out of things from
nature, including fur, skins, bone, crystals, shells, roots, and feathers. The contents of a
person's medicine bundle are considered sacred; it is forbidden to ask about them.
Cattle rustling: Today rustlers have cast aside horses, roaming the open range
in a four-wheel drive and holding a GPS. They have trucks to haul their stolen cattle to
distant slaughterhouses where re-branded cattle arouse less suspicion.
