SYNAGOGUE The 1903 Synagogue stands a block north of Butte’s oldest Catholic church, St. Patrick’s, and a block south of the 1200-seat Masonic Temple Auditorium, today’s Mother Lode Theater. The site of the African-American Baptist Church is a block away from St. Patrick’s, and the opposite corner holds a Methodist Church where a U.S. Army unit commanded by Captain Omar Bradley raided a newspaper office in 1918.
