Serb Fest, hosted by Holy Trinity Serbian
Orthodox Christian Church, is the kind of
community festival that has been drawing
the same families back for generations,
and welcoming new ones every year. This
year marks more than 120 years of the par-
ish welcoming neighbors to its table.
The food alone is worth the drive: sarma,
the cabbage rolls braised in tomato and
paprika; kielbasa hot off the grill; povitica,
the swirled walnut bread that traditional
bakers spend the better part of a day pre-
paring; whole barbecued lamb and pork,
carved to order; and baklava in stacks, be-
cause no one leaves without it.
