early fifty years ago, Mountain
Hot Tub founders Tom Walker and
Scott Smith, both Bozeman locals,
began hand building wooden tubs one
at a time. After 35 successful years,
they sold the business to longtime
employee and general manager Kelly
King. During this time, Mountain Hot
Tub was honored by Aqua Magazine
as one of the industry's top 100 pool
and spa dealers several times over, and
was inducted into the Aqua 100 Hall of
Fame in 2005. It has also won Best Hot
Tub Dealer in Montana in 2022, 2023,
2024 and 2025.
Kelly and his wife Shirley expanded
the vision to better serve Montana's
growing hot tub market, including
opening a satellite location in Big
Sky. In September 2023, Kelly sold the
business to a local employee ownership
team who continued the growth
trajectory, opening the company's
fifth and sixth locations. Now with
six convenient locations statewide,
Mountain Hot Tub provides customers
with exceptional hot tubs, saunas, swim
spas, and cold plunges.
Throughout these changes, Mountain
Hot Tub's philosophy remains
unchanged: working with integrity to
provide the highest level of product and
customer service—without exception.
