One of his earliest jobs was with the Kalispell Weekly News, which specialized in scenic photos and historic features. He then moved to the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, eventually accumulating 34 years in journalism. Now gainfully retired, he volunteers at the Northwest Montana History Museum and edits the newsletter for a local history group.
