That's what Jelena Louie, BUCKAROO BLING owner-de- signer, wants her designs to embody. Having lived in many places, Jelena shows design influences of many cultures, but one theme remains constant: grit and grace of the American West. Buckaroo Bling designs nourish one's in- ner cowgirl, adding a bit of rock-'n'-roll sass to country western flair. In today's world of instant everything, they encourage customer's return to slow fashion where each piece, made by hand, evokes a simpler, more honest, more fulfilling life. Buckaroo Bling uses quality American turquoise, domestically sourced metals and leather to create jewelry that makes even the simplest outfit pop. They offer turquoise collections with Montana deer leather, fringed boot accessories, multi-gemstone oneof-a-kind pieces, and options to request custom designs. Their earrings are worn by former Miss Rodeo Montana, for- mer Miss Rodeo Canada, and current Miss Teen Rodeo Mon- tana. Yet, the Buckaroo Bling impact doesn't stop there. As an animal lover herself, Jelena regularly donates a portion of rev- enue to horse and dog rescue. When shopping Buckaroo Bling, expect to find not only styl- ish jewelry but also honesty, integrity, and compassion. Today's world surely needs these. The store is also a museum, and a free one at that. But unlike most museums, this one is unusually tactile. With staff supervision, there's plenty for you and your kids to poke, prod and feel! Earth's Treasures provides a unique experience in that it is at once an educational experience for the whole family, with amazing pieces like a Triceratops brow horn complete with the unmistakable imprint of blood vessels on its surface, or a chunk of a meteorite that fell in China in the early 16th century. But it's also a place where a kid can walk in with two quar- ters in her pocket and leave with something awesome that will last, well, forever. This happens so frequently, Patti says, that the store has an official policy regarding kids who are spend- ing their own money—they get a discount. It's a savvy tactic designed to appeal to the "saggy pants kids." Those are the kids with their pockets weighed down with all of their treasures, of course.
