Bud Lilly has been called the trout���s best friend. He started the ���catch
and release��� program in the Northern Rockies over 30 years ago, and is
widely honored as a world-class fly- fisherman and conservationist. Bud���s
family roots in Montana stretch back to 1864 Nevada City. His collection
of memories includes military service, a 25-year teaching career, many
awards and books. He lives with his wife, Esther, in a renovated 1910
railroad motel in Three Forks.
