Merv Coleman was inspired to become a full time photographer after photographing wild horses on the high desert lands of northern California and Nevada. In 1980, he and his family moved to Red Lodge, MT, to own and operate a photography studio and gallery with the Rockies and Yellowstone National Park as a backdrop. Merv is an award-winning photographer of both nature
and portrait photography. He was honored as Photographer of the Year in 1996 and 1998 by the Montana Professional Photographers Association. In 2001, he won the Animal Portrait division of the prestigious BG Wildlife Photographer of Year competition in Lon- don, England, with his image of a backlit bison in Yellowstone.
